The Purge

I wrote about being grumpy last week, too wrapped up in my head to get a blog out. But what’s funny is how enlightening the experience ended up being. I am emotionally detoxing. I am putting a ton of new and healthy experiences into my life- and all the old out dated beliefs I lived by are leaving me. The energetic purging I just experienced knocked me off my feet. What “shit” are you working through right now? I have to swear- it’s what it is– horrible waste that keeps us down.

Have you ever done a detox? I started a few gentle methods the past couple of weeks, all much different than any I have done before. I’m oil pulling twice a day (coconut oil), drinking a ginger spice apple cider vinegar beverage (it’s off the charts by the way) and eating mostly vegan (I refuse to give up cheese). My body is responding in odd ways: differently than it has with other methods in the past. I will spare you the details but “old dirt” is leaving my body- it’s gross. This time I’m shedding a different kind of layer, a really deep one, and it hurts. Bad. Really bad. This has turned into an ego detox.

One of my favorite sayings in energy work is “you can’t heal what you won’t feel”. Facing your true intentions is hard. In my favorite book, The Four Agreements, Miguel Ruiz begins by explaining how the moment we are born the world tells us who we are and what’s appropriate to think. To quote (kind of) the author “we don’t even get to choose our own name”. That really resonates with me.

So, what have I learned from my bad mood last week? You must be willing to tear down the old walls, structures, or (in my case) fortresses to get where you really should be going. And when you finish with one- another lesson will show up. But I’ve decided life isn’t supposed to be easy- -what’s the quote? “When you stop learning, you die”? And I feel good more often than I don’t. Staying stuck in old patterns hurts a lot more than the emotional outburst of letting go of it. And I choose to keep going.

The only person who stops me, is me. The patterns of my life are my personal patterns. I choose to remember “the definition of wisdom is pattern recognition”.

Meditate on that this week.

  6. I think what you wrote made a ton of sense.

But, what about this? suppose you were to create a killer headline?
I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added a title that makes people desire more?
I mean The Purge | A place to celebrate health, wealth and happiness.
is a little plain. You should peek at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they write
post headlines to grab viewers to open the links.
You might add a related video or a related picture or two to grab readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it could bring your
blog a little bit more interesting.
